The Walsh County Tobacco Prevention Program offers the following services and programs:
Policy Development: We can work with your business or school in developing and implementing tobacco free policies that will enhance the health and wellbeing of your students/staff.
Presentations: Presentations are available to schools, businesses and organizations. The length and tobacco topic can be matched to the needs of the group.
Free Individual and Group Tobacco Cessation Counseling: Contact tobacco prevention coordinator for assistance.
Tobacco Cessation Product Refund Program: This program will refund residents of Walsh County for up to $200.00/grant year (while funding lasts), for qualifying FDA approved medications used to assist them in quitting tobacco. Participants are given the opportunity to enroll in NDQuits and receive personal counseling with the Walsh County Tobacco Prevention Coordinator.

Our Mission
We are committed to improving and protecting the health of Walsh County residents by reducing the negative health and economic consequences of North Dakota’s number one cause of preventable disease and death-tobacco use.
Our Goals:
To prevent the initiation of tobacco use among youth and adults
To promote quitting among current tobacco users
To eliminate exposure to secondhand smoke
To identify and eliminate tobacco-use related disparities
To educate community members on evidence based tobacco related issues such as cessation services, newly emerging tobacco/ tobacco related products and prevention through policy development
To keep our community informed on tobacco prevention progress
