Safe Sleep

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) still remains the leading cause of death among US infants between 1 month and 1 year of age.  Most of these deaths occur to children younger than
6 months of age.

While SIDS deaths have decreased, rates of other sleep related deaths have increased such as accidental suffocation, entrapment and strangulation. That is why it is important to continue to educate parents and caregivers about
safe sleeping for babies.
